Privacy Policy
Effective date: 7 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ancientzen LLC (“The Ancientzen,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit theancientzen.com, contact us, or use related channels we operate. It is written for readers. It is not legal advice.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for this website is:
Ancientzen LLC
A Colorado limited liability company
1940 Broadway, Suite 314C, Boulder, CO 80302, United States
Email: ancientzenmail@theancientzen.com
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may also contact us at that email to exercise the rights described below.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers theancientzen.com and information we collect when you email us or use forms on the site.
Our Facebook Pages and YouTube channel are hosted by Meta and Google. Those companies have their own privacy policies. When you use those products, their rules apply in addition to this one.
3. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run a publisher site.
- Information you send us. If you email ancientzenmail@theancientzen.com or use a contact form, we receive your email address, the message, and any files you attach.
- Comments. If comments are enabled, we receive the name, email address, and text you submit, plus your IP address, which WordPress stores to moderate spam.
- Technical data. Our host records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, dates and times, and referring URL.
- Cookies. The site uses CookieAdmin to ask for consent where required. Cookies may include essential cookies, analytics cookies, and — when advertisements are present — advertising cookies.
- Analytics. We may use Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
- Advertising. When ads appear, partners (which may include Google AdSense and, if approved, Mediavine or a similar network) collect data as described in their own policies.
We do not require an account to read articles. We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers on this site.
4. How we use information
To publish and improve the site; reply to corrections, rights requests, press, and privacy requests; moderate comments; measure readership; show advertising when ads are enabled; comply with law; and protect the site.
We do not sell email lists. We do not use your contact messages to train public AI models.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Legitimate interests (running the site, security, answering mail, limited measurement); consent (non-essential and advertising cookies via CookieAdmin); legal obligation; contract only if you later enter a written agreement with us.
6. Cookies
Accept or reject non-essential cookies in the CookieAdmin banner. Essential cookies may still be set so the site loads. Rejecting advertising cookies does not remove the articles.
7. Advertising
This site may display third-party advertisements. Partners can include Google and, if accepted, Mediavine or another publisher network. If Mediavine later serves ads, we will add Mediavine’s required “Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)” block and partner list to this page.
8. Social networks and embeds
Pages may embed YouTube or link to Facebook. Those companies collect data under their own policies. We operate the Facebook Pages listed on About and YouTube at @theancientzendotcom.
9. Images generated with AI
Most editorial images are reconstructions generated with AI tools. They are pictures we publish, not a file of your personal data. We do not upload reader photographs into image generators. We do not use contact emails or comments as training material for those tools.
10. How long we keep information
Contact emails for as long as needed to handle the request. Server logs for a short host period. Comments until removed or a deletion request is honoured. Analytics per that product’s settings.
11. Who we share information with
Host and security tools; email infrastructure; analytics and advertising partners when those tools are active; advisers or authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell email lists. Some advertising cookies can be treated as a “sale” or “share” under California law. Reject those cookies in the banner, or write to us.
12. Your rights
You may ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit it, to object, or to withdraw cookie consent. Residents of California, Colorado, and other U.S. states with privacy laws may have additional rights. Email ancientzenmail@theancientzen.com with the subject Privacy. EEA, UK, and Swiss readers may also contact their local authority.
13. Children
Written for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
14. International transfers
Ancientzen LLC is based in the United States. Visitors from other countries may have information processed in the U.S. and in countries where our host and vendors operate.
15. Security
HTTPS and standard hosting protections. Do not send passwords, payment cards, or identity documents unless we have asked for a specific document as part of a rights request.
16. Changes
We will update this page when practices change. The effective date at the top will change.
